AI expense tracking

Resibo receipt scanner

Snap a receipt and an AI reads it into the expense book, shown with a made-up catering kitchen in Malolos. Store, TIN, invoice number, every line, VAT and total come off the photo in about ten seconds, then the owner checks it against the photo and files it.

Resibo review screen with a supermarket receipt photo under a magnifier next to the store, TIN, invoice number and eight lines it read
Resibo month view with September spending, six months of totals, spending by category, claimable input VAT and a list of receipts by day

What I built

  • Receipt reading with a vision model on Workers AI, picked after testing two models on thermal, handwritten and tilted receipts. If no receipt is handy, the sample receipts are "photographed" in the browser and sent through the same AI
  • A review screen with the photo on one side and the fields on the other: a magnifier for checking the paper, and highlights on anything the model wasn't sure of
  • Bookkeeping checks that run as you type: do the lines add up to the total, is the VAT really 12%, is this a duplicate, and does the receipt have the VAT-registered TIN and invoice number needed to claim input VAT
  • A monthly view with spending by category, six months of totals, claimable versus unclaimable VAT, a daybook of every receipt, and a CSV export for the bookkeeper
  • Runs entirely on Cloudflare's free tier. The browser shrinks photos before upload so they fit in D1, and daily caps keep the AI inside its free allowance

Stack

Cloudflare Workers, Workers AI, D1 (SQLite), TypeScript
